2010Where our story began.
Becoming a pioneer in augmented interaction technologies, iskn originated from years of research in magnetometry at CEA LETI — recognized by Reuters as one of the world's most innovative research institutions.
2014The birth of iskn
After 4 years of incubation and a successful crowdfunding campaign, the company was created in 2014 under the iskn brand name.
2017 to 2019The launch of The Slate
Under the iskn brand, we launched a revolutionary series of products that brought traditional drawing into the digital age: From the Slate Color Edition (2014), The Slate Black Edition (2015), The Slate 2 (2016) to The Slate 2+ (2017).
2019The launch of Repaper
Under the iskn brand, we introduced Repaper-the first and only pencil-and-paper graphics tablet designed for creatives, educators & remote workers. Developed in partnership with Faber-Castell of Germany, it brings analog precision to the digital world.
2020The Birth of AMI
In 2020, AMI (Advanced Magnetic Interaction) was established as the technology company behind the iskn brand, with a mission to advance digital expression through cutting-edge R&D. AMI owns all related patents and is now focused on nurturing and evolving its unique augmented interaction technology, partnering with third parties to embed it into next-generation products across industries.
2022AMI acquired by BIC Group
In September 2022, AMI was acquired by the BIC Group to accelerate its ambition of becoming a leader in digital expression. This strategic partnership provides AMI with the resources to sustain its R&D momentum, expand into new use cases, and develop innovative solutions that make digital creativity more intuitive, accessible, and versatile across industries.
2025iskn unveils the Digital Dry-Erase Whiteboard concept at Computex
In June 2025, iskn introduced an innovative concept at the Computex trade show: the Digital Dry-Erase Whiteboard. This solution combines the simplicity of traditional whiteboards with the power of BIC compatible markers, offering a seamless and intuitive experience for collaborative work and creative expression.
2026iskn unveils the world-first Digital Markerboard concept at NeoCon
In June 2026, iskn introduced the Digital Markerboard at NeoCon, the leading event for commercial design and workplace innovation. Powered by AMI's patented magnetic interaction technology, this unique concept transforms traditional whiteboards into connected sharing tools, allowing users to connect, write naturally with real markers, and instantly share content across physical and digital environments.
